DRAMA REPORT (2022)

BY VERONICA KAMANGA & CHATINEWENYU RIRWA (DRAMA PATRONS)

2022 was the most exciting year for the Watershed Drama Club. The National Allied Arts Festival was an eye-opener to the new members of the club. It was an opportunity not to miss two years after the lockdowns. The school play was the climax of the club’s activities in the second term as pupils displayed their newly acquired skills in drama. The exhilarating play, ‘Nicodemus’, was performed on stage on the 3rd of August. The students put up an outstanding performance as they showcased their multiple talents. The audience had a barrel of laughs as the actors paraded their fantastic and spectacular comic stunts on stage. Special mention goes to Rudo Marere who directed the play, Arlene Igiraneza for the grand set up of the stage, Rica Iradukeje for being a good team player, Brendon Mubaiwa for effective use of cinematic effects and Carlos Captain for encouraging the young members of the club. Of note was the stately show by the Form One students whose enunciation and improvisational skills have improved significantly. Grant Matare, Elizabeth Mutsikwi and Lakeisha Tsuro earned honourable mention for exuding boldness and self-confidence on stage. Hopefully, they will put up another sterling performance in the upcoming musical Christmas play.
