Computer Graphics Club Report 2017

I consider myself to be privileged to have been part of this club. Having learnt a lot of skills in copying and designing logos, posters, we went a step further by designing for important Watershed College events such as The Parents Concert, The Open Day and the Form One Entry Test although these would not be used for these functions. However, I enjoyed the experience and feeling of designing for existing events. By my own standards, I consider the year largely successful because of the fun and enthusiasm that went with each week’s session.

Last year, our numbers were small but this year was different. From seven members last year, the number shot up to an annual average of 15 this year. Students appear to be realising and appreciating the importance of computer skills as these are applicable in their various other subjects, for example graphic design skills in technical drawing and ICT.

I am confident that the club will live on and continue to grow because of the relaxed but firm atmosphere that prevails during the sessions, the fun and the joy of one realising the fruits of their efforts almost instantly. I am grateful to Mr. Nyarumwe for investing his time and energy in establishing and running the club as it has allowed all those who have joined it to gain extensive skills and knowledge that will be useful not only now but in the very distant future.
