School Bus Driver

Requirements

• 5 O’ Levels including English Language  
• Valid Class 1 Drivers License & Re-test  
• Valid Defensive Drivers Certificate  
• Valid Medical Certificate  
• Police Clearance  

Driver skills  

• 5+ years’ experience driving a school bus and working with children at an ATS school is added  advantage.  
• No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years  
• Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)  
• Ability to carry out assigned route on time  
• Excellent interpersonal skills  
• Ability to follow instructions  
• Ability to drive all other school vehicles when required  
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge would be an advantage  

Responsibilities  

• ∙ Safely transport children and staff to and from school and to various destinations for activities  ∙ Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus/vehicle at all times  
• Obey all traffic laws and regulations  
• Perform inspections of the bus/vehicle before and after each route  
• Assist students with loading and unloading onto the school bus/vehicle  
• Assist students with getting on and off the bus/vehicle when required  
• ∙Resolve emergency and non-emergency situations that occur during travel and trips  ∙ Build rapport with both students, staff and parents. To be personable and presentable to College  stakeholders.  
• Attend weekly and monthly safety meetings
